About The Kitchen Depot
What is The Kitchen Depot?
The Kitchen Depot is a Venice, Florida cabinet shop and full-service kitchen and bath remodeler. We sell kitchen cabinets in 15 in-stock styles, custom-manufacture our European cabinet line through our manufacturing partner, and handle installation in-house with our own family crew. We serve Venice, Sarasota, North Port, Port Charlotte, and the rest of Southwest Florida from our showroom at 1200 Jacaranda Blvd in Venice.
How long has The Kitchen Depot been in business?
The Kitchen Depot LLC was founded in 2022. Owner Alex Yelfimov has been in the kitchen remodeling business since 2016.
Is The Kitchen Depot family-owned?
Yes. The Kitchen Depot is family-owned and operated. Most installations are done in-house by Alex and his family crew, which is part of why the work is consistent and the quality is held to one standard.
What is Quality Care Standard?
It's how we run every job. Treat every customer's home like a kingdom. No cutting corners, no surprise substitutions, no upselling junk. The cabinet you picked off our showroom floor is the cabinet that gets installed in your kitchen.
Cabinets — What We Sell
Do you manufacture your own cabinets?
Our custom European cabinet line is manufactured to spec for each customer. We cut the plywood and MDF boxes to your kitchen's exact dimensions, using EGGER boards and premium European materials. Our shaker cabinets are sourced from established manufacturers and stocked at our Venice showroom for fast turnarounds.
What's the difference between your European and shaker cabinets?
Shaker cabinets are a classic 5-piece door style with plywood box construction and a wood center panel. We stock 15 colors and finishes in shaker. European cabinets are slab-front, frameless, full-overlay — much more modern, with PET laminate doors and matching edge banding. European cabinets are made custom for each kitchen; shaker cabinets are typically pulled from in-stock inventory.
Can I customize the European cabinets?
Yes — full customization is available on our custom European line. We work with EGGER boards (a premium European laminate manufacturer) and can spec your cabinets to your exact kitchen:
- Custom heights, depths, and widths to fit your space
- Custom corner configurations for odd layouts
- Integrated LED lighting inside cabinets
- Glass cabinet doors
- Specialized internal organization — pull-outs, dividers, custom drawer fits
- Special finishes and edge bandings
If you can sketch it, we can usually build it. For projects that don't need this level of customization, our RTA European line is the faster, budget-friendly option.
How long does a custom European cabinet order take?
Custom European orders typically run 15 days to 1 month from sign-off, depending on our production schedule and the complexity of the build. RTA European cabinets ship faster — usually within a few days. We lock in a firm timeline at the quote stage so you can plan your kitchen around it.
Are your cabinets soft-close?
Yes. Soft-close doors are standard on all our shaker cabinets. Dovetail drawer construction is also standard.
How many cabinet door styles do you carry?
15 door profiles, with 30+ colors and finishes available across them. All on display at our Venice showroom — you can see and touch them before you commit.
Pricing
How much do kitchen cabinets cost?
For cabinets only (no installation), expect a small kitchen to run $5,000 to $10,000, a mid-range kitchen $10,000 to $15,000 depending on material, and a larger or premium kitchen $15,000 to $25,000 or more with custom European construction and upgrades.
How much does a full kitchen remodel cost?
Full kitchen remodels at The Kitchen Depot typically range $10,000 to $50,000. The range depends on scope — cabinet refresh with new counters is on the lower end, while full demo, layout change, custom European cabinets, and premium materials puts you closer to the top of the range. We give you a transparent itemized quote so you know exactly where your money's going.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We accept cash, check, credit card, and financing. Talk to us at the quote stage and we'll walk you through the financing options.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. We provide free in-home consultations and quotes for all kitchen and bath projects in our service area.
Do you charge for 3D kitchen design?
No. Free 3D rendering is included with every consultation. You'll see your kitchen photorealistically before we ever break ground.
Installation & Crew
Who installs the cabinets?
Most installations are done in-house by Alex and the family crew. That's intentional — when the same team that sold you the cabinets also installs them, accountability is built in.
How long does cabinet installation take?
Average install runs 3 days to 2 weeks depending on scope. Cabinets-only and countertop swaps are typically on the shorter end. Full remodels with demo, electrical, and plumbing take longer.
Are you a licensed contractor?
The Kitchen Depot LLC handles all work that doesn't require a Florida state contractor license — cabinet sales, cabinet installation, countertop fabrication and install, and interior finish work. For projects that require a licensed contractor (structural changes, electrical, plumbing, large permitted remodels), we coordinate with our trusted licensed contractor partner — the same licensed pro we've worked with on every job that needs one. We're upfront about this — you always know who's doing what on your project.
Warranty
What warranty comes with your cabinets?
Our cabinets carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty plus a 1-year craftsmanship warranty from The Kitchen Depot. The manufacturer warranty covers defects from the factory; the craftsmanship warranty covers the install and workmanship.
What does the cabinet warranty cover?
Defective doors, hinges, hardware, and damaged items from the factory. Intentional damage is not covered. That said — if a door is accidentally damaged, even after the warranty has expired, we try to replace it. We'd rather keep a customer happy than win on a technicality. That's how we run.
What about countertop warranties?
Countertops carry the manufacturer's warranty, which ranges from 15 years to lifetime depending on the material (quartz typically has the longest coverage). We provide the exact warranty document for whatever stone you choose.
Service Areas & Process
What areas do you serve?
Venice, Sarasota, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, Bradenton, Rotonda West, Lakewood Ranch, and Wellen Park. If you're in Southwest Florida and not on that list, call us — we likely cover you anyway.
How does a kitchen project work from start to finish?
1) Free in-home consultation — we look at your kitchen, talk through what you want. 2) Free 3D design — you see the kitchen rendered. 3) Transparent itemized quote — no surprise charges. 4) Pick your cabinets at the showroom — touch the door, see the finish. 5) Order, prep, and install — typically 3 days to a few weeks depending on scope. 6) Final walk-through and warranty paperwork.
Do you handle permits?
For permitted work that requires a licensed contractor, we coordinate with our trusted licensed contractor partner — the same licensed pro we've worked with on every job that needs one who pulls the necessary permits. For straight cabinet and countertop replacement, permits usually aren't required.
